Title: LAT Sat. 6/30 John Farmer
Post by: magus on June 30, 2012, 09:05:11 AM
Possible Title: Saturday “31”

Good Ones:
Like some airport parking   NOSEIN [guess that’s planes, but could also be cars, so clue could say “most”]
It’s a crock   OLLA [I always think of The Godfather character, Johnny Olla]
Food stamp   USDA
Be in hot water   STEEP
Unfriend?   FOE   [thought it was some social site verb I didn’t know]
Unlikely remedy   CUREALL [odd that the name contradicts itself]

By the Way:
ZOMBIELIES, a new word for me, is a most creative way of defining persistent rumors that have already been debunked.

Neglect   OMIT [while it could be, the clue seems too misleading for my taste, even on Saturday]

Didn’t know:
AESOP, GRACENOTE, LILY, TAMI, SAS, PALAU, AGGIES, ZOMBIELIES, DENNY, but the puzzle was so well constructed that I could solve it cleanly in ink.

RATING:   ;D ;D ;D Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
