Title: Common misclued answer
Post by: paraskoj on September 05, 2015, 02:00:30 PM
An observation...recently I've come across several puzzles with the cue "Greek penny."  The answer has been given as "lepta." Lepta is the plural of lepton. A single unit was a lepton. There were 100 lepta in a drachma.  Lepta are Greek pennies (pl). By the way the accent is on the last syllable in both cases. The term "leptá" or (colloquially) "leftá is often used like "moolah" or money in general.
