THEME:   words beginning with CON are reinterpreted

GOOD ONES:
Hoodwink companies?   CONFIRMS [con firms]
Swindle court appointees?   CONJURORS
Pull a fast one on proctors?   CONTESTERS [usually the testers are teachers, so I'd say the con job was on teachers]
Cut with a pink slip   AXE   [probably hurts just as bad]

BTW:
Bank teller's call   NEXT [at a deli counter, yes;  teller's window, hardly]

Jockey's strap   REIN [interestingly jock strap comes from the same root: jock]

RATING: ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
