Title: Simple Q - Is the Puzzle Database only a Database or are there Puzzle files?
Post by: DanJeffrey on April 07, 2014, 11:46:40 AM
Does the puzzle database include access to entire puzzles (e.g. in .puz format) or is it just a database of clues, etc for puzzle constructors?

The description of the puzzle database indicates the ability to do various searches for constructors. It does not say that whole puzzles are kept there. Are they?

Point is - I am not a big crossword constructor. I am simply looking for puzzles to solve. Should I get a gold membership?

Hello,

No, you cannot get access to older files in .puz format via the database. The database is information drawn from .puz files. If you're looking for puzzles to solve, the database access won't help. Having said that, all contributions to the site are appreciated! :-)
