THEME: first three letters of a phrase contain the name of a tree
GOOD ONES:
Lullaby setting {& theme} TREETOP ["top" of the phrase is the tree]
Took in ATE [I thought duped, etc.]
Man of letters? SAJAK [funny how we make subject matter experts of game show hosts]
List maker DEAN [never knew if there were really a list or if it was just a grade point cut-off --- anyway, I thought Santa Claus, etc.]
BTW:
Enchant BESOT [besot means "to stupefy or get drunk"; enchant means to "mystically affect"; hence, not synonymous]
