Title: Sat., 10/19 Peterson & Wilber
Post by: magus on October 19, 2013, 10:21:51 AM
THEME:   none, but 30 blocks, two fifteeners, and two triple gangs

GOOD ONES:
High anxiety?   ACROPHOBIA
Montreal (with acute accent)   NOM [a label is a name]
Mariner's org.   NASA [I thought NOAA at first, not the spaceship]
Freed from radio music   ALAN [the first rock D.J. --- maybe better without "music"]
M.'s counterpart   MLLE [I thought James Bond, not French titles]
Woolf pack?   BLOOMSBURY GROUP [knew right off it was Virginia but it took awhile to remember the literary group]

BTW:
Don't know why FETTUCCINE isn't fettuccini.

Steak-and-kidney-pudding ingredient   SUET [that's what I feed to my birds --- no wonder English food has a bad rep]

Abbey nook   APSE [doubt an abbey would have an apse, which is found in cathedrals and large churches]

RATING:    ;D ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
