Post by: magus on September 21, 2013, 09:18:07 AM
THEME:   none, but we were double-teamed and triple ganged

GOOD ONES:
Cub games setting: Abbr.   CDT [I thought place (CHI) not time]
Brief black-and-white flash?   APB [ya gotta know ya cops shows: black-and-white = cop car; APB = "all points bulletin" which is a sort of news flash]
Early birds?   EGGS
Star of "for Scentamental Reasons"   PEPE [his surname was mentioned in an earlier clue --- love the title also]

BTW:
Took me awhile to figure out that "Soc. Sec. supplement" was not a public program but an IRA one arranges privately as a social security supplement.

RATING:    ;D ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun

magus, I fall for that trap every time, thinking setting = place. And each time I do it I say to myself, "Next time I will remember! Setting can mean clock setting!" And then I forget all about it until the next time I fall into the trap.  ::)
