Title: Mon., 8/12 Gareth Bain

THEME:   Horror film titles found in first words of non-horror phrases/names

GOOD ONES:
Scary showing {& theme}   HORROR-FILM

BTW:
Converse of "divided by"   INTO [In division, there is the divisor which "goes into" a number yielding the dividend.  I don't see an aspect in that which may be considered converse, so maybe I'm missing something --- nah, I never miss anything.]

Like some pizza   CHEESY [sorry, this clue is cheesy; pizza is simply not thought of as cheesy --- unless a snob considers it such on a date]

Suspect's "I was home asleep," e.g.  ALIBI [then he really has no alibi]

Did a farrier's job   SHOD [in my newspaper it looked like "farmer's" and I was set to pounce]

Over the past several weeks I've noticed that early-week puzzles have been more challenging and therefore more entertaining for me, but there is still the avoidance of anything clever or creative in the cluing.

RATING:    ;D
Three grins = Loved it; Two grins = Enjoyed it; One grin = A bit bland for my taste; One teardrop = Not much fun
